Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) is located on the Southern end of Gold Coast. We are the largest attraction within the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) portfolio and feature a vibrant and varied collection of Australian Wildlife and Non-Native Exotics located one block back from beautiful Currumbin beach.We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, capable and reliable person to fill the role of Park Cleaner on a seasonal-casual basis. This role will require you to take responsibility for undertaking specialised cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness of both indoor and outdoor areas of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Weekend work will be required so the applicant will need to have seven-day availability. If you have a positive and friendly approach to your work, eye for detail, outstanding guest service and enjoy working within a small friendly team, then please apply. Details about this Position: Responsible for physical cleaning of Sanctuary’s facilities, toilets, public areas plus internal offices, kitchens, food and beverage outlets, lunchrooms and other areas.This role will include performing other duties as required by the Cleaning department and Park Operations.A key part of this role is to provide friendly and helpful information about the Sanctuary facilities and attractions to our guests.A buggy will be available to drive to multiple locations around the Sanctuary.This role will require extensive walking, bending, lifting and carrying, in an outdoor environment, in all weather conditions.Safe use of equipment and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is a key element of this role.This is a seasonal casual position commencing from November 2020 until Sunday 28th February 2020 with potential to be extended subject to business needs.This role will include weekend, public holiday and school holiday work, as well as some night shifts, so 7-day availability is required.Typical shifts will range from 0-38 hours per week and between 6.00 am to 6.00 pm across a 7-day rotating roster, with later nights as required for functions and events.Pay and work conditions are under the Amusements, Events & Recreations Award 2020.Non-smokers are preferred. Selection Criteria:At least two years of relevant experience in similar role or commercial cleaning would be an advantage.Previous experience with working productively within a small team. Must be a cooperative team player, able to follow direction and work autonomously, demonstrating initiative to complete tasks.Physical fitness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, walk long distances, use correct manual handling techniques, empty bins at waist height, work with chemicals and capably perform all elements of a cleaning role.Ability to adhere to WHS guidelines/policies and practices. Experience in working safely with commercial chemicals is an advantage.Appropriate level of English and Numeracy skills is required.Acceptable level of personal presentation and communication to be able to interact in a friendly, professional and courteous manner with Park guests, staff and volunteers.Must be able to read, speak and write English to a high level to deliver appropriate levels of customer service.Must hold current Driver’s licence. First Aid qualifications will be highly regarded.Must have availability to work weekends and over all holiday periods.
