Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) is located on the Southern end of the Gold Coast. We are the largest attraction within the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) portfolio and feature a vibrant and varied collection of Australian Wildlife and Non-Native Exotics located one block back from beautiful Currumbin beach. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is currently seeking an experienced Exotics Wildlife Supervisor to join our Wildlife team; to achieve high levels of animal husbandry and animal health whilst continually working to improve the quality of our animal exhibits.  We are seeking a motivated, highly energetic and professional candidate to take responsibility for this team, to build expertise in managing our mixed Exotics and Native collection and also develop and mentor the Keepers to build their expertise.  Details about this Position: This role will require a high level of knowledge and extensive experience working with exotic mammals and a variety of native and non-native bird species. We are seeking professional applicants who are energetic and enthusiastic, have a high level of communication skills and previous experience in effectively supervising a work team of paid staff and volunteers.This role will involve duties such as, but not limited to; animal husbandry, animal health, exhibit maintenance, plus implementing animal training and conditioning techniquesThis role requires the ability to successfully supervise current staff & lead a team.This role will be representing NTAQ-CWS at external conferences and workshops & special events.This role is a salaried full time position working 40 hours per week.Regular working days will include one weekend day. There is however an expectation of holiday period work as may be required, based on the needs of the business and the nature of the role.The successful applicant may be required to provide a satisfactory police check clearance.This is an outdoor role in a non-smoking environment. Selection Criteria:Essential qualifications: Cert 3 in Captive Animal Management.Desirable qualifications: Specialisation in zoological studies, management studies, degree level studies in a related field.Demonstrated extensive experience working with exotic mammals and native and non-native bird species, in a captive environment. Bird experience will be highly regarded.High level of communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to deliver department reports.Familiarity and ability to use ZIMS.Demonstrated skills in animal training and conditioning techniques.Demonstrated ability in capture and restraint of captive animals.Ability to effectively supervise a work team of paid staff and volunteers.Demonstrated experience, exposure and interest in a variety of zoological exhibit designs and styles at both a national and international level.Appropriate fitness to walk long distances, stand for long periods and ability to carry / support up to 10kg for a prolonged period.Manual Driver’s licence (& current First Aid qualifications would be an advantage).Must be flexible and reliable with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude in our team environment.High standard of personal presentation is essential. Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:We are an inclusive company, and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.                                                        How to ApplyYour application should include your resume plus a brief cover letter stating how you meet the Selection Criteria.  AUD Currumbin 4223
