As one of Queensland’s earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations.As we continue to welcome visitors to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and share our conservation story - we have an opportunity for a passionate, energetic, and experienced Full time Wildlife Supervisor to lead our Native Mammal team and support our Wildlife department.About the RoleReporting to the Wildlife Collections Manager, our passionate and experienced Wildlife Supervisor will supervise the ongoing care, including health, welfare and breeding management of native mammals at CWS. As our motivated Supervisor, you will oversee a small team, providing high quality animals husbandry and management practices and be responsible for assisting with the daily operation of all duties involved in the ongoing care of the native mammals, including; habitat maintenance, engaging in visitor interactions, and promoting CWS in the capacity of your role in a variety of settings.  As a highly engaged and passionate animal advocate, you will also support our Volunteering Program and fundraising teams by sharing knowledge, training and coaching others (including trainees) as well as sharing our Story with our visitors.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate 3 Captive Animal Management, or equivalent qualification.  In addition, you must be able to deliver high levels of customer service in an energetic, friendly, and professional manner within a busy team environment.  Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously but also collaboratively and supervise multiple teams of keepers in the care of rounds involving animals with a focus on native mammals.Extensive prior experience in native mammal husbandry and management practices, combined with prior people management experience.Ability to convey messages clearly and professionally in interactions with colleagues, visitors or volunteers, both verbally and in writing.Ability to demonstrate strong organisational skills and command of decision-making, problem solving, planning and people management skills.Demonstrated commitment to excellence and continuous improvement with the ability to model professional standards of conduct, personal presentation, behaviour, and integrity.High-level user experience with Microsoft Office suite/ZIMSAppropriate fitness to perform physical duties such as walking long distances, bending, twisting and lifting in an outdoor environment, in all weather conditions.What we can offerJust as our charter is to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State – we also are committed to ensuring our Team Members are protected, taken care of and of course celebrated!  We offer current and future team members:Benchmarked SalaryFree On-Site ParkingTertiary Education Partners for access to recognised QualificationsFlexible Working Arrangements and Study LeaveNTAQ Team Member Card offering unlimited entry to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and other SEQ sites and generous retail & food & beverage discountsCurrumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Family & Friends Passes AUD Currumbin 4223
