Volunteer at Brisbane's oldest Farmhouse property- Wolston FarmhouseCurrently taking applications for Saturday's  {11.30am-2.30pm} support within our Tea Terrace. Volunteers play an integral part within the National Trust organisation, in supporting our heritage sites and projects throughout Queensland. Are you interested in joining a new, friendly social group that showcases and shares our vibrant heritage? We are seeking interested volunteers for a variety of different roles at this property. Full training is provided.  Role 1.On Saturday or Sunday -Be a Tour Guide- inspire visitors with stories of the past, showcasing our 19th century artefacts in the different rooms at the vintage homestead. Role 2. On Saturday  11.30am-2.30pm - Become a Tea Terrace Volunteer - Do you enjoy the bustle within a cafe environment and the personal service with it? Our Tea Terrace Volunteers assist in serving delicious, traditional farmhouse tea upon our stunning terrace.  Tasks include food preparation, clearing tables, taking orders and delivering food, maintaining cleanliness.  Role 3.On Saturday or Sunday - Heritage Visitor Volunteer - Welcome our guests upon entry following Covid Safe protocols whilst being the friendly face of the Farmhouse.  Cash handling, phone answering, promoting National Trust and its membership as well as caring for the retail section make this role very varied! Role 4.On weekdays - Heritage Education Volunteer- Supporting visits from local schools. Showcasing to little ones Wolston's operations in the 19th century! Role 5.Each Wednesday - Join the Heritage Volunteer Working Group team - Submerge yourself in the beautiful grounds surrounding the Farmhouse. Each Wednesday is working bee day, and our Heritage Volunteers come together to perform a variety of tasks including collection care, cleaning, grounds work, window cleaning and basic maintenance. Please consider joining one of the above volunteer roles if you are a person who has:A passion for culture, conservation, the environment, and the heritage of QueenslandA welcoming, helpful, and positive dispositionActive and in general good healthA willingness to learn new skills and to follow workplace protocols including COVID-safe and Workplace Health and Safety practices Great communication skills, able to confidently communicate within a group Able to commit to regular attendance, be aged over 18 and have email accessWhatever volunteering role you may fancy, take this great opportunity to join your local, historic landmark that hosts a range of heritage events and activities!
