In addition, the hospital provides veterinary care to the Sanctuary animal collection and conducts world-leading research and conservation projects. The Hospital is located within the grounds of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, one of 12 properties managed by National Trust of Australia Queensland (NTAQ). NTAQ is a membership-based community organisation and registered charity that works to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State.To support the ever-increasing expansion of the Wildlife Hospital operations, we have opportunity for aCasual Veterinary Nurse to join our highly respected Wildlife Hospital Team and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of admitted wildlife as well as the ongoing welfare of our Sanctuary species. About the RoleThe Wildlife Hospital is a dynamic & fast paced environment, and our dedicated Veterinary Nurses are responsible for providing an exceptional standard of health monitoring, clinical nursing, and husbandry care. Reporting the Hospital Operations Manager, as an experienced Vet Nurse you will assist the Veterinarians during examinations and clinical/surgical procedures and undertake laboratory diagnostic procedures, including sample collection and storage.s a confident animal handler, you will be able to undertake safe capture and restraint techniques of both native and exotic species and work with a team of dedicated Team Members and volunteers to ensure the for the welfare of the animals who stay at the veterinary clinic.As a broader member of NTAQ, you will also represent our Mission and Values and work to deliver the key message of organisation. About YouTo be successful in this role, you will hold a Certificate IIII of Veterinary Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification and have prior experience in the Veterinary industry, working with wildlife and exotic species.  Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:Strong understanding, knowledge and practical clinical nursing skills of zoo, exotic & native wildlife speciesYou will be an energised, diplomatic, highly capable, and personable individual with a genuine interest and passion for wildlife.Can demonstrate a highly flexible, cooperative, and positive attitude.Liaise and communicate in a friendly and effective manner with all key contacts including internal department staff, volunteers, and associated veterinary contacts. What we can offerJust as our charter is to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State – we also are committed to ensuring our Team Members are protected, taken care of and of course celebrated!  We offer current and future team members:On Site Parking, Uniforms & Food & Beverage DiscountsTertiary Education Partners for access to recognized QualificationsNTAQ membership offering free entry to 800 properties worldwide including Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary & Family & Friends Passes AUD Currumbin 4223
