As one of Queensland’s earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State.As we continue to welcome visitors to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and share our conversation story - we have an opportunity for an experienced and qualified Full time Maintenance Officer to support our Maintenance team and to ensure the extensive sanctuary grounds are safe and engaging for our guests and wildlife collection. About the RoleReporting to the Workplace Operations Manager, our Maintenance team work to ensure the maintenance of projects around the Wildlife Sanctuary and other associated properties.  You will ensure that all works completed to full safety standards.  The Maintenance Officer will be carrying out labouring duties including general building and grounds maintenance. This role will require a high level of energy, health and fitness to perform physical duties outdoors in all weather conditions, walk long distances, bending, twisting and lifting within environments that may be noisy and dusty. About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.  You will be a safe, tidy, friendly, and courteous worker as this is a work environment where visibility and interactions with guests is an important factor.  Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:Maintenance all-rounder experience highly desirable.Previous painting experience is highly desirableMust have knowledge of and compliance with all W.H.S guidelines/policies/protocols.You will show initiative and expertise to successfully scope & complete maintenance tasks.Must hold a current manual driver’s licence.Past experience working productively and collaboratively within a small team.You will be able to follow direction, work without supervision and demonstrate initiative to complete job tasks within given time frames.You will be reliable, hard- working, strong and supportive fast-paced team player.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detailComfortable in a work environment which includes mammals, birds, reptiles and snakes. What we can offerJust as our charter is to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State – we also are committed to ensuring our Team Members are protected, taken care of and of course celebrated!  We offer current and future team members:NTAQ Team Member Card offering unlimited entry to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and other SEQ sites and generous retail & food & beverage discounts.Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Family & Friends Passes AUD Currumbin 4223
