Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) is located on the Southern end of Gold Coast. We are the largest attraction within the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) portfolio and feature a vibrant and varied collection of Australian Wildlife and Non-Native Exotics located one block back from beautiful Currumbin beach. We are seeking a passionate and experienced casual Group Experience Officer to focus on delivering our programs in an engaging and interactive way, which showcases Australian wildlife & conservation topics to a variety of different age groups and backgrounds.  Position details & duties  In this role you will be a part of the friendly Group Experience team and deliver a variety of services and programs including hosting school visits, conducting outreach programs in schools, delivering community courses, hosting school holiday programs and community and corporate events.  This role will have the capacity to work in a variety of roles including delivering programs to all age groups, school holiday program, tours and delivering offsite Wildlife on Wheels programs and events.The role will involve training/conditioning wildlife and animal handling as well as animal husbandry, monitoring animal health, presentation programs, and other duties as required.This role will include a mix of guiding, teaching and animal handling.Flexible availability through the week is preferred with the ability to work school holiday periods being essential.This is a Casual position working 0 to 38 hours per week subject to bookings.Evening shifts and weekend may be required during busy times.The preferred start date for this position is ASAP.Pay and work conditions are under the Amusements, Events & Recreation Award 2010.The successful applicant will be required to undergo a police check.  Selection Criteria:Current Blue Card or eligibility to obtain a Blue Card is essential (or exemption).Must hold Certificate 3 in Captive Animal ManagementMust have flexible availability necessary to deliver successful outcomes for this role, this includes working over school holiday periods, weekend, and evening shifts.Previous experience working with wildlife and knowledge is required.Previous experience in training and care for animals with a strong working knowledge of operant conditioning is desirable.Previous presentation skills as a Teacher or similar is desirable.High level of energy, communication skills and teamwork skillsCurrent driver’s licence is essential.Must be able to demonstrate ability to communicate in memorable, informative and interesting ways to participants of differing ages, learning levels, cultures and backgrounds.Physical ability to walk distances, carry loads up to 10kg and to perform all requirements of the role in all weathers is essential.The ability to be a team player, following directions and showing initiative where necessary is essential.Current First Aid Certificate is desirable. How to ApplyYour application should include your resume plus a brief cover letter stating how you meet the Selection Criteria.  Applications will only be accepted via the online application form on our website: https://currumbinsanctuary.com.au/corporate/employment  AUD Gold Coast
