This role is based at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary located on the Southern end of Gold Coast. We are the largest attraction within the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) portfolio and feature a vibrant and varied collection of Australian Wildlife and exotic animals located one block back from beautiful Currumbin beach. If this sounds like you, please read on. Our Food & Beverage and Events Team are currently seeking fast, friendly and fun workers with Hospitality Industry experience to join our team as Seasonal Casuals until January 2022.  This role will hold responsibility for delivering an amazing guest experience in an energetic, courteous and professional manner - especially during the holiday seasons. The successful applicants will have proven Food & Beverage experience, willingness to undertake a variety of hospitality tasks and have an enthusiastic approach to your work. Position details & duties This is a fast-paced role that will include :providing friendly food & beverage counter service, basic food preparation and assisting with in-park events and functionsCleaning duties such as table clearing, ensuring courter areas are well presented and refreshed & assisting with dish room duties as required.Understand each outlet menu offerings; provide suggestions and up-sell food and beverage items.Maintain visual presentation and product offerings of outlet, ensuring they meet food safety standards and cleanliness.Maintain high standards of hygiene for food handling and presentation.Promote a safe workplace by recognising hazards and promoting general WHS practises.Participation and commitment to achieving departmental objectives is an element of this role, along with being an energetic and positive team playerThe successful candidates will provide a friendly and welcoming service to guests.The seasonal casual positions are from September 2021 up until January 31, 2022 with potential to be extended subject to business needs.Full availability over Qld and NSW School Holiday periods is essential.Shifts will range from Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster. We cannot guarantee hours, but expect weekly hours to range from 0- 20 hours and up to 38 hours during peak periods.You must be comfortable working in an outdoor environment that includes birds and reptiles.The successful applicant may be required to provide a satisfactory police check clearance.Pay and work conditions are under the Amusements, Events & Recreation Award 2020.Non-smokers are preferred. Selection Criteria: Previous experience in a customer service role, ideally within a Fast Food, cafe or restaurant establishment.Current Qld Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) is essential or willingness to obtain.Hours of work: availability required between typically 7.00 a.m. – 9.00pm over 7 day roster. Own transport may therefore be required.Barista experience is desirable but not essential.Experience working at Events and confident three plate carry is desirable but not essential.High standard of personal presentation and communication.Excellent customer service skills, including cash handling and up-selling ability.Flexible approach to work, as this position will involve working across different outlets and different work teams within the Food & Beverage and Events department.You must be a hardworking, friendly & cooperative: being reliable and a ‘can-do’ attitude is a key part of the job.Must be self-directed with excellent time management and ability to work calmly under pressure.Knowledge of the attractions of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is desirable.
