Wolston Farmhouse is located in the fields of Wacol 25 minutes from Brisbane CBD. It is one of Brisbane’s oldest surviving residential farmhouses and a popular destination for locals, visitors and for school excursions. The property is 1 of 15 heritage properties in the portfolio of National Trust of Australia Queensland (NTAQ). The historic property operates the heritage Tea Terrace on weekends that offers a farmhouse style morning/ afternoon tea. Immersed in a beautiful expansive rural setting,  the property also hosts heritage school excursions and is a delightful venue for a suite of events large and small including Weddings. As Events and Site Manager,  you will hold responsibility for the commercial success of this property, managing Events inquiries and bookings, plus performing all administrative processes associated with the operations of this iconic and historic property. The key focus of this diverse and interesting role is to manage the Events business development role; combined with the need to be an experienced Events 'all-rounder'. If you are a person that enjoys taking ownership, appreciates the need to be hands-on in delivering /supporting small events and is confident to work with third party providers to ensure the success of larger events, then this role will suit you well. Position details & dutiesIn this role you will:Work a part-time salaried role working including one weekend day. Flexibility needed to work additional hours as required to support profitable business opportunities.Manage commercial revenue success of the property including bookings, ticketing, a small retail operation and the property budget.Report to the NTAQ Heritage Manager, joining a small team of other NTAQ Site Managers located throughout the State.Actively support the F&B Supervisor in successful delivery of the Farmhouse-tea experience.Effectively answer all inquiries plus proactively source and develop future business.Work proactively to create, plan, organise small Events, and manage venue hire sales and responsibilities for larger events (sourcing and working effectively with external providers)Optimise the revenue and promotion of the property in collaboration with and NTAQ Head Office teams (Sales and Marketing, Finance, HR, Retail etc).Manage a small staff team and a team of loyal, passionate and knowledgeable volunteers.Foster relationships with community and other stakeholders to enhance business operations at the property in line with NTAQ heritage and conservation objectives. Selection Criteria:Previous Events Sales and Events delivery experience.Is a capable and confident BDM, to develop new events to meet budget targets.Is a friendly, experienced, motivated and supportive leader, with ability to manage a diverse mix of stakeholders, from external contractors, to staff and volunteers.Is a creative problem solver who will enjoy the challenge of taking this venue to new levels of success.Has creativity and ability to plan, establish and positively deliver new business initiatives to achieve budgeted increases in revenue for this property. Has experience to professionally assist with delivery of simple café food and beverage operations.Has capable administrative capability.
