As one of Queensland’s earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations. As our organisation anticipates the delivery of our exciting new Outlet and Events Venue – The Homestead, we have an opportunity for an experienced and luxury minded Culinary leader, experienced in Events as our Chef de Cuisine -The Homestead.  Reporting to our Executive Chef, our Chef de Cuisine will oversee the food production and quality for The Homestead & The Patio with a focus on delivering consistent high-quality food, that meets service and quality standards for our dining and events guests. About the RoleAs an experienced chef, you will lead a small team responsible for the delivery of high-quality food and presentation across our Events, delegating duties and responsibilities to ensure service standards and operational requirements are met. As our hands-on Chef de Cuisine, you will have experience in both Outlets and Banquets, and be able to plan, coordinate and deliver high-standard, innovative and consistent menus to our discerning events guests.  Flexible in your approach, with a can-do attitude you will work with our Events Sales Team to deliver innovative and seasonal menus that showcase your creative flair and meet our guests expectations, as well as consider the efficiency and profitability of our menu design. The Homestead Chef de Cuisine will also oversee our Outlet The Patio, and ensure delivery of high quality and well presented casual dining fare and develop menus in line with Seasons, food trends and profitability, that aligns with our focus on sustainability. As a confident leader in our diverse and value-driven organisation, you will mentor a team of food and beverage professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, as well as playing an integral role in our pre-opening team supporting the planning, training and stock control, to prepare Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to enter the bespoke dining and Events market and deliver a memorable dining and events experience. About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have previous experience as a Chef de Cuisine/Sous Chef in a high-end Banquet environment, and proven experience leading teams to deliver a high level of food quality and service.  Other key skills that would make you a valuable candidate include: Passion for service excellence and providing superior hospitalityDemonstrated various cooking skills and knowledge of various cuisines with a focus on EventsCreative, eye for Detail and a flair for PresentationExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsCompleted technical education in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)Able to effectively manage service quality, ensuring high standards are consistently met and ability to coach and inspire with a collaborated and flexible approach.Visible management in the Kitchen and ability to work rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.Pre-opening experience highly desirable What we can offerJust as our charter is to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State and we also are committed to ensuring our Team Members are protected, taken care of, and of course celebrated!  We offer current and future team members: Benchmarked Salary & Salay SacrificingFree On-Site ParkingTertiary Education Partners for access to recognized QualificationsFlexible Working ArrangementsNTAQ Team Member Card offering unlimited entry to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and other SEQ sites and generous retail & food & beverage discountsRegular Team Events and Recognition ProgramsCurrumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Family & Friends Passes AUD Currumbin 4223
