National Trust of Australia Queensland (NTAQ) is a membership-based community organisation and registered charity that works to protect, conserve and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State. Please refer to our website for more details: https://www.nationaltrustqld.org.au/.      Position details & dutiesReporting directly to the CEO of NTAQ, this newly designed role will manage the following responsibilities:You will provide the leadership, line management, regular communication and direct support to the NTAQ Heritage portfolio teams across the state. This heritage portfolio consists of heritage properties and Branch Committees.Facilitate company profitability, achieved by providing operational advice and general business development (BDM) activities. This will entail being an engaging, knowledgeable and effective ambassador for NTAQ. Duties will include forming and maintaining effective internal and external relationships and partnerships at community and corporate level.You will be professional at all times, knowledgeable of company objectives and hold ability to facilitate continuous improvement for the business in terms of brand, reputation and stakeholder engagement.You will be an energetic, capable, experienced and effective leader and a clear communicator and enjoy the challenges of managing a diverse and multi-faceted portfolio of passionate volunteers. You will appreciate your individual work efforts will be a major contributor to growing the brand and success of NTAQ in order to deliver upon its important strategic objectives.This is a full time salaried position based in Brisbane CBD, with one day each per fortnight working from Wolston Farmhouse at Wacol and one day per fortnight at NTAQ Head Office at Currumbin on the Gold Coast. Occasional state wide travel will be required.Hours of work: 5 days per week, rotating Monday to Friday then Sunday to Thursday. Flexible availability required to attend occasional evening events.Package benefits include salary of $75 to 85K plus super, phone and laptop provided, plus National Trust membership offering free entry to 800 properties worldwide including Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.  Non-smokers preferred.  Selection Criteria: Experienced Area Manager with a minimum of 3 years previous experience working within a customer-service based industry.Ability to successfully manage, motivate and direct geographically diverse staff teams is essential.Experience working with volunteers is considered a strong advantage.Can demonstrate appropriate sales and business development skills in order to source, promote and convert corporate and community partnership opportunities.Can implement processes and training to support activities of Heritage property teams and branches.Will have interest in Queensland heritage and prepared to act as an ambassador regarding heritage advocacy matters.High level skills required in the areas of work organization, communication, leadership and financial reporting. Must be a capable user of Microsoft Word and Excel; can prepare and present reports, budgets and incident reports.Must be genuine friendly, flexible and positive leader with a ‘can do’ attitude.Required leadership style must be professional, productive and supportive, with a close alignment to the company value set, i.e. The Wings of Success program: Welcoming, Efficiency, Safety and Fun.Must be self motived with ability to work autonomously but also collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.Appropriate fitness to drive and travel for up to 4 hours per day upon occasion.Must be a WHS champion about ensuring both general safety and COVID-safe workplace operations and ensure all teams meet compliance requirements to relevant workplace legislation and company policies.Reliable vehicle and current Driver’s license required.
