This role is located at the heritage tourist property of Wolston Farmhouse , one of Brisbane’s oldest surviving farmhouses, built in 1853. This is a popular weekend destination for Brisbane families.  Wolston Farmhouse is 1 of 12 heritage sites managed by NTAQ (National Trust of Australia Queensland). We are currently seeking an experienced Events Supervisor to work each Sunday at the Wolston Farmhouse "Tea Terrace".  Enjoy each Sunday in a beautiful country location working with a great team for a charity committed to the conservation of Queensland heritage. Position details & dutiesWork each Sunday, supervising a small friendly team of keen volunteers and trainees.Serve a simple farm-style menu of farmhouse scones, damper or gourmet platters.Engage with customers in a friendly welcoming manner and comfortably manage any troubleshooting as required.Manage food safety standards and COVID-safe requirements, always ensuing safe work practices are followed.Role includes set up, opening, closing and cleaning duties including dish room duties associated with the Tea Terrace.Hours of work are typically Sunday from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm. Extra days will occasionally be available to assist at additional events booked by external suppliers.Pay and work conditions are under the Amusements, Events & Recreation Award at Grade 4 rate of $28.38 per hour plus 1.5 Sunday penalty = $42.57 per hour.Non-smokers are preferred.Interview details: If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to work a paid trial shift at the property on a Sunday. Please apply ASAP. Selection Criteria: A minimum of two years’ experience at Event Supervisor level is required.Leadership skills required, with proven experience to supervise a small team that will require basic training.You will have friendly personal interaction skills required to deliver excellent customer service and work harmoniously and productively with the staff and volunteer team.A current Qld Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) is required.You must be available to work each Sunday between 9.00 am to 2.00 pm.You will have availability to work occasional extra shifts.You will live locally and have your own reliable transport.You will have appropriate personal presentation to work in a heritage tourism environment.Must be self-directed with excellent time management and ability to work calmly under pressure.Role requires average level of fitness, including the ability to lift up to 10 kg and perform bending and twisting.First Aid certificate is preferred.A genuine interest in Queensland heritage is desirable. How to Apply Click on this link to complete your application.
