As one of Queensland’s earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State.As we continue to welcome visitors to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and share our conversation story - we have an opportunity for a passionate, energetic and experienced Part time Wildlife Keeper to support our Birds round within the Wildlife department. About the RoleReporting to the Life Sciences Manager, our passionate Wildlife Keepers work to ensure the welfare of our animal collection by ensuring a high level of animal and health husbandry.  As our passionate and hands-on Wildlife Keepers you will support exhibit maintenance to ensure the exhibit is well maintained.This role will require a high standard of knowledge of captive husbandry of Native Australian birds. It will involve duties such as, but not limited to; animal husbandry, animal health, exhibit maintenance, keeper talks, and display excellent customer service and park knowledge to drive the visitor experience and share our conservation stories.  This is a permanent part-time role working 32 hours per week.  About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate III Captive Animal Management.  In addition, you must be able to deliver high levels of customer service in an energetic, friendly, and professional manner within a busy team environment.  Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:Wildlife handling, husbandry skills and previous experience in this area is essentialExcellent customer service skills and able to work with a variety of people.Energetic and friendly personality and confidence with domestic and international visitorsBe prepared to work in an outdoor environment, in all weathers, in a role that requires substantial walking in a workplace that contains animals including birds and reptiles.Ability to carry / support up to 10kg for a prolonged period.Hold a current manual Driver’s licence and current First Aid qualifications is highly desirable.Flexible and availability to work across weekends and school holiday holidays. What we can offerJust as our charter is to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State,  we also are committed to ensuring our Team Members are protected, taken care of and of course celebrated!  We offer current and future team members:Benchmarked & competitive Salary PackagesFlexible Work PracticesOn Site Parking, Uniforms & Food & Beverage DiscountsNTAQ membership offering free entry to 800 properties worldwide including Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary & Family & Friends Passes AUD Currumbin 4223
